So you want to know more about me?
My name is Eric Hoffman and I am the founder and chief architect at Blueric Software, a custom software development and consulting company based in Monument, Colorado. Monument is a nice, small town just north of Colorado Springs and not too far south of Denver, making it an ideal place for someone like me, who prefers the local community feel yet needs to be close to larger metro areas for work.
I have been writing software for well over 20 years now and I consider myself lucky to have discovered my passion very early in life. I got started programming on the venerable Apple II computer when I was 12 years old using LOGO, Basic, and later Assembly Language. I’ve since spent nearly all of my professional career working with hardware and software on the PC; more specifically on the Microsoft technology stack. These days I spend the majority of my time designing and developing web-enabled applications with ASP.Net, C#, Silverlight, and MS SQL Server. I guess it’s as Confucius said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
So what can you expect on this blog?
Although I’ll certainly be posting on topics related to software development, I won’t be limiting myself to “programming” per say. I have a wide array of technical interests some of which include systems architecture, PC hardware, digital electronics and circuit design, digital photography, and home theater and other audio/video gear. I am also an avid outdoors-men who likes hunting (mostly with primitive style muzzle loaders), fishing, hiking and outdoor photography. So when I can I will try to tie one or more of these topics together.
